Why Are We Still Here?
If you look at the map of the ancient world, every nation mentioned alongside Israel is gone: The Hittites, the Amorites, the Babylonians. So, how are we still here?
The answer to this question is found in Leviticus Chapter 26, which lays out a stark blueprint for our national existence: a promise of blessing for faithfulness set against a warning of the consequences of transgression.
The Jewish people have lived the reality of this chapter. We have endured the agony of exile and the shifting masks of antisemitism, only to witness the breathtaking, miraculous return to the Land of Israel.
Through it all, one undeniable fact remains: the survival of the Jewish people against all odds is not a historical accident; it is a supernatural phenomenon.
This survival is anchored in the eternal promise found at the conclusion of Chapter 26, where God reassures the

Jewish people with these words:
“Yet despite this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them… But for their sake, I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt.”
This passage is the ultimate refutation of “Replacement Theology” promoted by the early Christian Church Fathers, who painted Jews and Judaism as “rejected” by God.
Furthermore, God’s words are a divine guarantee that the Jewish people will never be abandoned or replaced. As King David proclaimed in Psalms 105:8, “God remembers His covenant forever.”
Shabbat Shalom.
